The Hotel Goldey was built and opened in 1962 in Unterseen and run during the summer month only. Family
A. Pittet successfully led the hotel for fifteen years.
The Hotel Goldey was handed over to Elizabeth
and Roland Kuchen in 1978. For two generations the family Kuchen
had already been the owners and managers of the Hotel Europe,
which is situated close to the Interlaken Ost train station.
Barbara and Andreas Kuchen were able to buy the Hotel
Goldey in 1989. One year later the new owners invested
CHF 2.5 millions. With the transformation the hotel could now
also be opened during the winter months. Two new meeting rooms
in the basement now allow the Hotel Goldey
to welcome and cater for seminars.
For four years, the hotel was open all year round. After that it was
decided, that for economic reasons and to allow yearly adjustments
and renovations, the hotel would be closed for a short break during
the winter (December-January).
In 1996 on the flat roof off the hotel a modern meeting room with
a breathtaking view was built. The new offer opened new possibilities
on the seminar market and meets high demand.
With the opening of the Loverooms “Under the starlit
sky“in 2002 and the “Laguna Romantica“
in 2005, two new spectacular offers were created.
Renovations and improvements have been made every year and are
also planned for the future. The main focus is always to improve
the comfort of our guests.
